Healthy Skin

these two foundations are compared so much all over youtube and blogs. Neutrogena Healthy Skin is referred to as the dupe for Nars Sheer Glow, I beg to differ.

the story of how I came to have both is quite lengthy so I will spare you the details, bottom line is there are differences between the two and I honestly can not call it a dupe. Natural Beige #60 was the closest I could find to my skin tone in the Neutrogena, I am Punjab - Medium in Nars and NC30 in Mac to give you an idea. the Neutrogena is still not a 100% match but the shades higher & lower were way off. Neutrogena is thicker than Nars yet it has less coverage. Nars actually has a more matte finish although it's got "glow" in the name, when swatched side by side, Neutrogena looks "wetter" than Nars. now maybe it's just me, but I rather like the fact that I can barely feel Nars on my skin, whereas Neutrogena feels heavy. Once applied Nars sets pretty well without powder but Neutrogena feels a bit tacky to me. now I'm not saying Neutrogena is a bad foundation, I use it on my "casual" days when I don't really have to look terribly flawless - hard to do anyways. would I repurchase it? no, I'd much rather spend the money on the Nars.

there you have it, my take on the Nars Sheer Glow v. Neutrogena Healthy Skin. btw, I know my face looks bad, still recovering from the Mac foundation fiasco, I didn't apply any primer, setting powder or concealer so these are straight foundation only pics.
